One of the first airliners I built as a kid was the Airfix Boeing 727-100 in TWA livery.
|
Many years later I built this as a nostalgia build. |
Now I found it in the basement, perhaps a bit scratched and dirty but I decided to include it in my pages. |
While I was trying to find references for the black Playboy DC-9 I found pictures of a white Boeing 727 that had been used by Playboy. I thought that those two planes would match each other well so I built it using an Airfix 1/144 scale Boeing 727-100.
|
It was also rediscovered in the basement, so it got some pictures taken to. |
Homemade decals. |
For the 10-year anniversary group build Airfix forum at Hyperscale I decided to build a kit that had been lingering for 10 years in the stash waiting to be built.
|
I started by filling the windows using the Tamiya Light-Curing putty. |
The red on the 727 was included as decal but I decided to paint it instead. |
This is the result. |
Almost out of the box with decals from 26 decals. They were very nice to work with. |
OK, it's not Swedish but Denmark is close enough. I've wanted a Sterling 727 since the 1970's but decals were the problem. Heller once had a kit but in an odd scale so that one was of no use for me. |
