I needed to do some modelling out of the box after my latest 1/20 scale Formula 1 cars. This is the result, a Matchbox Surtees TS16/03 in 1/32 scale.

| Jochen Mass drove it at Silverstone 1974. Not a kit you see every day and I wanted one ever since I saw it in the catalogue in the mid-70s. It isn't the easiest kit build. The rear wheel upright is hard to get together as the attachment points of the parts were a bit fuzzy. I had to use super glue to manage to get them together. |
| The decals had yellowed a bit, but it was not the clear coat as I would have thought, it was the white that was affected. As the only white needed was the FINA on the nose one might make new black decals on a Laser printer, but I opted for the kit decals. I didn't paint the Good Year markings on the tyres as I think that Surtees run on Firestone. |
