Hasegawa Egg planes part 5

Korean war fighters MiG 15 and F-86 Sabre

The F-86 had decals for a Korea war plane so I thought that I should build the MiG15 like that to.
(Models finished 2009)

So I had to use decals from a 1/72 kit. But the alu-finish came out to greyish on them.

MV-22 Osprey

This kit was built out of the box.
(Model finished 2018)

The large decals were a bit hard to get to fit the rounded surface of the plane.

Variants of the Sukhoi Su-33 kit

Sukhoi Su-33

I had never heard about the Su-33 before I found this kit.
(Model finished 2018)

I just built it straight out of the box using the decals in the kit.

Sukhoi Su-27

I had bought the J-15 fighter, but the kit was a disappointment. It was just the Su33 with new decals. My first thought was to get rid of it but in the end, I converted it in to a Su-27 instead.
(Model finished 2018)

I removed the canards and reshaped the top of the fins. I think that Hasegawa missed a feature on the Sukhoi that literally sticks out, the long tail. I decided to add it to my Su-27. I used the drop tank from a 1/144 Viggen and some plastic card for this.

Then it needed some decals, so some Ethiopian in 1/144 scale was used.

MiG-29

Being totally fed up with eggs a parcel turned up. With five egg planes! Perhaps it was in anger that the Su-33 got trashed? But I have a plan, a very lose one but still.... The plan might turn this into a plane.
(Model finished 2020)

For once I managed to make a clean straight cut but that was in vain as I had to remove lots of material as well.

Not a pretty sight.

Building up the new shape with Magic Sculp.

It is looking even worse with the added plastic card, but I have a good feeling for this.

The basic shape of the wings has been set.

I need to finish with the filler and sanding before going on to the fins.

But now I am almost sure that I can have a MiG29 in the end.

There are such different shapes that need to be connected.

Well. I'll do as usual. Improvise. Small pieces of plastic card and Magic Sculp.

It seems to work.

I brought out some leftover F-18 fins hoping that I could match the end of the fins with the new ones.

But the F-18 fins were too short. In the end I decided to use them instead of making new of plastic card.

Work goes on but slowly.

Now I need to get some primer on to be able to see where it still needs some putty.

But I think it is starting to remind me of a MiG29.

Here the build stalled for almost two years.

I had been searching for it for a couple of month and finally found it in a box of finished models. Out of its hiding place it started to get some paint on.
