Mk.III Female

Learning to drive.
A small conversion from the Mk.IV Female kit from Emhar.
(Model finished 2020)

The side plates of the sponson's weren't split on the Mk.III as they were on the Mk.IV so I had to fill the "panel line". Also there was a single row of rivets on the top of the sponson instead of the double row on the Mk.IV.
Of course I had to mess up this build too. Looking at the pictures I can see that I managed to mount one sponson upside down.

The rivets on the top of the driver's cab differ. On the Mk.III there are two rivets close together at the end. I noticed on a picture that this is also at the back. I am not happy with how the rivets came out. I will redo them.

The fuel tank of the Mk.IV had to go. This mean that there will be rivets missing. I decided to remove the rest of the rivets and add new from a sheet of rivets from Archer. The Mk.III was training tanks made of mild steel and remained in the UK. They were mostly unarmed while drive training.

With all of the machine guns deleted I had to alter the attachment points for them.

The sponson that I managed to mount upside down has its direction changed and the injuries it got while doing this has been repaired.

Triangles has been made for the exhaust ports

Paint is on

so I am declaring it finished.

A travelling tower

I brought out a Mk.IV Female from Emhar and started adding plastic strips to it. Royal Navy used one Mk.IV tank to tow airships.
(Model finished 2020)

A part of the airship would be nice but I don't know how to attach it and getting the tank built is a challenge enough.
But I have finished the tower.

I was inspired by a 1/35 scale build. It had a long crank running up to the top of the turret but I can't see a use for a crank. I suspect it is a sort of pole to lift the schackle when the airship is connecting to it and as I can't find good pictures of it I've improvised.

I learned that the Female Mk.IV had a double row of rivets at the top of the sponsons I added that with an incorrect pattern. I'm also adding rivets to the sponson roof. I am trying Archer Fine Transfers for this for the first time.

I have decided to call it finished.

As I said, a piece of an airship attached to it would have been nice.

I added a sailor from the Matchbox flower class corvette to show it is a Navy tank .
