A fuel truck on the ZIS-6 chassis.
|
A kit from AER built straight out of the box |
Another Soviet fuel truck. This time on the ZIS-5 chassis.
|
This is also a AER kit built out of the box |
The BZ-35 refueller was built on the ZIS-6 chassis. This was a Soviet made Autocar truck. I decided to build my PST-kit as a longer Autocar CA. I was inspired by a pic of a KLM DC-2 being refuelled from a similar truck.
|
With a longer chassis I needed a longer tank. |
So now the Soviet ZIS-6/BZ-35 has been turned into an American Autocar CA. |
I filled the recess in the radiator and took the wheels from a Hasegawa CCKW truck. It only took me 15 years to finish this. |
I painted the Academy T-stoff truck in civilian colours, but I wasn't happy with the look of it.
|
So, I added plastic card to it to alter the look a bit. |
With a new rear fender, it looked more like a civilian truck. |
But there is still something that feels off. Perhaps the total lack of rear lights? |
