When I was going to throw out an empty Airfix box I found that it wasn't empty at all. Inside was a red Viggen kit. The Frog kit in Hasegawa disguise so I set out to do a more or less out of the box build.
|
I am replacing the raised panel lines with rows of rivets and adding an "exhaust pipe" from an Airfix kit but that is about it so it should be a fairly quick build. |
It is getting closer to paint, but it will not be the red plane from the last flight it will be the third prototype. But before I can start to paint. |
I have to assemble these. For some reason there isn't any fuselage pylons in the kit. |
The Frog/Hasegawa and the kits from Heller lack the outer fuselage pylons so I had to build them. I think that they turned out a little too big, but they have to do. |
I added a paper cockpit so now it only lacks the canopy before it is time to cover the beautiful red plastic. |
Vallejo's new metal paints. I used the White aluminium on this kit. |
The 37-3 didn't have much markings. The ones needed I had left over from a previous build. So, this is the third Viggen prototype. |
